If you love to play board games and live in the Akron, OH area, this group is for you! Founded in September 2007, we’re a friendly group of people who play all kinds of board games. Anyone that loves playing games is welcome whether you’ve been playing for years or are interested in just trying it out. We meet at the Patterson Park Community Center in Akron, OH twice a month on the 2nd Friday of every month from 4:00pm – 9:59pm and on the 4th Saturday of every month from 10:00am to 9:59pm.

We have plenty of open gaming space and members bring snacks and drinks to share. Free for your first time, $3 after that or  $42 for the yearly membership.

History of BOGA

BOGA was founded in September 2007 by Craig, Brendan, and a few other game enthusiasts at Underhill’s Game. The first meeting (the second Friday in September) started with only 13 attendees and everyone had a great time! From there the organization grew to what it is today.

As more and more people discovered the love of playing board games BOGA realized that a new space was needed for with a bit more elbow room In April of 2015, BOGA moved to Quirk Cultural Center in Cuyahoga Falls. After 5 years of gaming at the Quirk Cultural Center, BOGA needed a new location. After the COVID-19 pandemic kept the Quirk Cultural Center closed, BOGA bounced around until it settled again at Patterson Park Community Center in Akron, OH in early 2022.

BOGA events are attended by both people who have played games for years and by those who are new to board gaming and are interested in learning games.

Other Gaming Involvement!
